Sam Hurd caught in Cocaine Drug Deal
Chicago Bears wide receiver, Sam Hurd, was arrested December 14 after accepting a kilogram of cocaine from an undercover federal agent. It also was recorded that Hurd was attempting to buy 5-10 kilograms of cocaine and 1,000 pounds of marijuana. He stated to the undercover agent that he was looking for a new supplier. Hurd’s coaches were shocked and reported that he was the type of guy who always showed up everyday for work.
It seems in this case, Hurd had a strong work ethic, went to church and was possibly a cocaine drug dealer in Chicago. Fox Sports comments that football may have been Sam’s second job. Fingers are being pointed and observers are questioning the type of screening process the NFL does before signing players. Apparently, Chicago signed Sam Hurd to a new contract after his arrest.
It’s interesting that a sport that contains role models is not more careful about who they are employing. There should be better regulations and quality control especially when our impressionable young people are modeling themselves after these athletes.
